Version 0.9.5 released - monitor multiple directories

Version 0.9.5 is available for download.  The biggest feature here is that everything you could do before on only one directory you can now do any number of directories!  This is especially handy for background monitoring!  You should see a dialog window if you check for updates automatically.  Check the release notes for features.

Enjoy!

  1. Thanks for putting the time and effort into this Brian. On paper it seems to have all the capability I am looking for, but I canm't get it to work the way I would like. Maybe you can help?

I have a windows 7 pc set-up with 3 accounts and each account has its own iTunes library stored in a "public" accessible area. What I would like is to have each active user account running DSM in the background monitoring the other two libraries for new music content and updating its iTunes library when it finds it, all automatically.

I seem to hit several problems though. I'm not sure it's recognising multiple user accounts correctly. For instance it seems to share the music directory list between all accounts and outputs data (e.g. View All Added Files" button) to the same physical place regardless of account?

Am I missing something or doing something wrong? Thanks!

  2. Hmm...that's an interesting problem. The user data for iTunesDSM is stored in the user directory i.e. each run of the program should have it's own data. I'm not really sure why it's not working. If you could, let me know if there is an iTunesDSM folder in each user's directory. If not, it is sharing the same information, including the iTunesXML file which is used to identify tracks already in iTunes.
